I’m making a carrier board with the Apalis iMX8 8QM and I’d like to implement a second ethernet (using RGMII). The module datasheet indicates to use a Gigabit Ethernet PHY KSZ9131. I think you already have a reference for using this PHY, can you share the schematic of this function? I have no experience of ethernet hardware, it would avoid me design errors, thank you.

Based on the context provided, there is no specific reference schematic available for the KSZ9131 PHY with the Apalis iMX8 8QM. However, it is recommended to refer to the module’s datasheet and the PHY’s datasheet for detailed connection and configuration guidelines. These documents typically include pin configurations, power supply requirements, and example circuit designs that can help avoid design errors. Additionally, utilizing existing reference designs for the KSZ9131 can significantly reduce the risk of design errors. If you need further assistance, consulting with experienced hardware designers or using design software for simulation and validation is advisable.

Thank you for contacting us. We have indeed already developed the use of KSZ9131 for RGMII purposes. This can for example be found on the Verdin development board for which a schematic can be found at this developer page. On page 7 of the Schematic to the Verdin development board V1.1 you will find an implementation I believe you are seeking.
