We have a host PC on a network with several CE7 devices running CERDISP v3.3. Is it possible to have a CERHOST desktop shortcut that will automatically connect to a specific device when run? I know there are command line options for the cerdisp (e.g., -h10.0.0.5 -c) that can connect to a specific host PC. What I need seems to be a cerhost command line option to connect to a specific device name/IP.

Hello,
Thank you for your question. Currently, CERHOST does not support command line options to directly connect to a specific CE7 device by name or IP address, unlike CERDISP, which can connect to a host using such options. CERHOST is primarily designed as a graphical application, and its functionality is typically accessed through its user interface.
However, you can achieve similar functionality by using scripting or automation tools on your host PC. For instance, you could use a tool like AutoHotkey on Windows to automate the process of launching CERHOST and simulating the necessary user inputs to connect to a specific device. This approach involves scripting the GUI interactions required to select and connect to the desired device.
If you have any further questions or need more detailed guidance on setting up such a solution, feel free to ask!
