We use Colibri iMx6 for some application that involve writing image in its eMMC and we need to know how much is its write cycle?
Colibri iMX6 has a 4GB Micron MTFC4GACAJCN-1M-WT eMMC chip.
Micron doesn’t provide exact numbers of write cycles allowed. Since it uses MLC NAND an average write data life cycles are expected between 3,000 and 30,000.
Micron e·MMC incorporates advanced technology for defect and error management. If
a defective block is identified, the device completely replaces the defective block with
one of the spare blocks. This process is invisible to the host and does not affect data
space allocated for the user.
The controller also handles block management functions such as logical block allocation
and wear leveling.
