What format for a USB drive does easy installer support?

I am trying to use easy installer to deploy my build on a USB drive. However, no matter what USB drive format, FAT32, FAT I try, I get “Error mounting external device”. Does it take NTFS, or only ext4, or something else entirely?

Thanks!
Steve

Sure, the FAT32 formatting is supported. Can you please provide the version of Toradex Easy Installer you are using?

5.7.2+build.14 which is the latest, I believe.
I have tried multiple drives and reformatted to fat32, and NTFS with no effect. Still says it can’t mount external device (/dev/sda1).

Steve

Could you please provide the output of the dmesg command after inserting the FAT32 formatted USB drive using the serial debug console.

I even rebooted the devboard and still got the error message. Also, I have a SD card, 64GB. It gave me basically the same message, before and after a reboot.

Could you please perform the following steps:

  1. Boot Toradex Easy Installer.
  2. Insert a USB drive formatted in FAT32.
  3. Execute the dmesg command.
  4. Attach the complete output of the dmesg command.

@alex.tx
The above message doesn’t include the startup, but it includes all the parts where the USB was inserted from dmesg. But I can do that, yes.
OK, this time I inserted a blank drive. I didn’t get the message. So I added back the folder that contained the build, but named the folder a short name and not the name of the build, and it found it just fine.
So, at this point, I think the issue was the file name was illegal, which caused a problem in reading it.
