Whenever I rotate screen for 180°, the screen doesn’t update fully anymore.
I’ve installed a Linux LXDE 2.7 stable from TEZI, but upon booting, I execute xrandr --display "DISP3 BG" --rotate invert
, the task bar shows on the bottom and the top of the screen. When I move mouse over the taskbars, they un-render and render in back later.
What could be wrong here and how could I fix it?
HI @MGlolenstine
Which display/monitor did you connect to Colibri iMX6?
Best regards,
Jaski
The screen I connected to it, is BDT-T4340-01. It’s a parallel RGB display.
HI @MGlolenstine
I can reproduce the issue. May I know why you need to rotate the display?
What is your application?
Best regards,
Jaski
Thanks for your response!
I need to rotate the screen, as it’s mounted on an embedded device, that has the screen mounted upsidedown. We can’t rotate the screen physically, as the viewing angles are ment for it to be upsidedown. Is there another way, I could rotate it in the UBoot or something?
Kind regards,
MGlolenstine
Hi
You could rotate the screen in your software application.
Do you need desktop or what is shown on the screen?
Best regards,
Jaski
Preferred way would be to rotate whole desktop. The desktop is visible, but we could remove the taskbar.
We currently are rotating the application, but are having slight problems with the rendering as well, as not everything supports rotation.
Kind regards,
MGlolenstine
HI
Thanks for the Information.
Yes, you should try to remove the taskbar.

Yes, rotating the screen leads to some side effects.

Jaski
Thanks for the answer!
Just making sure, again, that there’s no way to rotate the screen using the U-Boot, like there is in the Windows’ EBoot bootloader?
Kind regards, MGlolenstine
Hi
As far as I know there is no way to rotate screen using U-Boot.
In Linux, you really need to rotate the application as explained here.

Jaski
Thanks! I guess that’s just what we’ll have to do.
You are welcome.
Please let us know if you were successful.
