Hi, I’m the Toradex AI Assistant. The Toradex Support team will follow up with you shortly!

Based on the provided context, the iMX8MP Verdin SOM supports simultaneous AP (Access Point) and STA (Station) modes, allowing it to function as both a WiFi access point and a client at the same time. However, the specific support for multistation mode, which would allow multiple stations to connect to the access point, is not explicitly mentioned. Therefore, it remains unclear if multistation functionality is supported. It is recommended to consult additional resources or technical documentation from the manufacturer for definitive information on this feature.

Hi, @RomainP !
Although I expect it to be possible (since Verdin iMX8MP has dual radio Azurewave module), I would need to try it.
We will do some tests and get back to you on this next week, ok?
Best regards,
It could be great, thank you
We will help us to estimate workload and HW WiFi modules required
Thank you
Hi @RomainP !
I kind of got it working, but it is behaving strangely.
We will need to investigate how we can make it work properly.
We will get back to you on this as soon as we have more information.
In the meantime, please feel free to ping us.
Best regards,
Hi @RomainP !
Thanks for your patience.
After a more detailed exchange with NXP about 88W8997, here is the information we got.
Since this chipset is single MAC (although it has MIMO 2x2 radio), it can’t handle two connections on two different channels.
Therefore multistation is not supported.
In order to have multistation feature, the recommendation is to add such Wi-Fi device with this capability on your carrier board.
Best regards,
