Verdin iMX8MP Q4GB WB IT V1.1A: Design Use case Support Query

We were using “Verdin iMX8MP Q4GB WB IT V1.1A” Dev kit with Linux OS to validate our POC.

Dev-Kit details:

  1. Verdin iMX8MP Q4GB WB IT V1.1A
  2. Verdin Development Board V1.1E
  3. Linux latest version

Our Use case data flow:

  1. Camera =>> Custom-device =>> HDMI-out =>> HDMI-to-CSI-Converter =>> CSI (X47 connector on iMX8MP Dev kit =>> iMX8MP-Dev-kit =>> HDMI-Out =>> Display Monitor

To support this use case we are using below mentioned “HDMI-to-CSI-Converter”. Do you have the drivers & other software utility to support this convertor

We already replied to same query from our support email on 30-Jan-2024. Just to close this post we are posting reply here as well

  • CSI input port with Verdin is not consistent with the above shared board. This need modification.
  • Driver is available in kernel but same is not tested by us, so we can’t say for sure how much effort will be required.
  • What you will need is suitable board to interface above module with Verdin, kernel with driver included and finally device tree to enable TC358743XBG.

With USB this should be fairly straight forward, we tested similar adapter sometime back with UVC driver this works without any changes with BSP 5.7
