Verdin I2S direct connection to LTE Module with USB Headset

Hi, we would like to use a LTE M.2 Module and connect the I2S interface direct to the I2S interface of the Verdin module and to use a USB Headset for audio communication using a software audio codec. Is this supported?

Hello relaxibus,

out of the box no. But it is also not really clear to me what are you intending to do.
could you go a bit more into detail?

Hello Matthias,

We will use a USB Headset and use up to two LTE Modules connected via I2S to use the voice channel instead of the data channel. Why? Well, the voice channel works even in GSM networks where 3G or 4G is not available. The number to dial will be entered via touch screen.

Hello Relaxibus,

the Vedin has many I2S channel and we have customers using those. How ever I am not sure how much I can help with your application and setting up those on the software side. You might also need some kind of echo canceling in software. My question would be if the I2S interface is brought up on the M.@ connector or are you using a chip down module?

Regards,
Matthias

As you can see, the I2S will be 1:1 connected to the LTE module. So the questions was also how to connect the LTE I2S to the Verdin I2S.

Hello relaxibus,

I assume you are creating your own carrier board right?
