I need to connect a standard RGB 24bit display with touch to the LVDS + I2C output of the Verdin Development Board with imx8m-mini (no HDMI output) using the Hirose connectors available at the board.
I wish to know if there is a recommended or market available converter. Any manufacturer, part number or internet link that can help me witout designing a new circuit and board for this conversion?
If not available, is there an available schematic and recommended chips to do it?
Having something ready would be great to avoid extra engineering effort.

Hello,
To connect a standard RGB 24-bit display with touch to the LVDS + I2C output of the Verdin Development Board with i.MX8M Mini, you will indeed require an RGB to LVDS converter. While there isn’t a specific recommended converter available from Toradex, you can explore third-party solutions. Companies that specialize in display interface technologies often offer converters that might suit your needs. When searching, consider keywords like “RGB to LVDS converter” and check with manufacturers known for display solutions.
If a ready-made solution is not available, designing a custom converter is a viable option. This would involve selecting appropriate components such as an RGB to LVDS bridge chip. Manufacturers like Texas Instruments, NXP, or Analog Devices might have suitable components. You would also need to design a schematic and possibly a PCB to facilitate the conversion.
While this approach requires more engineering effort, it allows for a tailored solution that meets your specific requirements. Ensure to review the datasheets and application notes of any components you consider to ensure compatibility with your display and the Verdin Development Board.
I hope this helps you in finding or creating a solution that works for your project.

Please, also check if these links can help you solve your problem:
Verdin modules do not feature a parallel RGB LCD interface, so you cannot connect a “standard RGB 24-bit display” to the Verdin Development Board unless you design and create a DSI-to-parallel RGB LCD interface adapter.
If your “standard RGB 24-bit display” has an LVDS interface , you can use the Verdin DSI-to-LVDS Adapter. The schematics and BOMs are available on the adapter’s and Development Board’s respective product pages.
alex.ts, the problem is not the DSI-to-LVDS, but the LVDS to RGB adapter.
In fact, I´ve noticed now that the LVDS is available, at the Verdin Development Board, through the DSI-to-LVDS adapter. It tought it would be, like a Mallow board, available direclty though a 40 pin Hirose connector. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
But this does not change my goal, that is to connect a RGB display to the LVDS interface (either directly as Mallow or though a DSI-to-LVDS connector as the Development Board).
Can Toradex recommend an adapter that can be acquired ready to run from the Toradex Catalog? A piece from any marketplace? Or even recommend circuit/chipset to do it? Something that has been tested and works fine with Toradex?
