Verdin AM62 Wifi 6 version

on the website i have seen the option for Verdin AM62 with Wifi6/Bluetooth 5.3 version possible in custom configuration.

could you please provide more details regarding this if a different wifi chipset is used and if so which one and any additional details regarding MOQ for the custom version.

have seen some posts on the forum with wifi performance on AM62 standard not being so great.

Hello!

The Verdin AM62 module is equipped with the u-blox MAYA-W160-00B Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module, which supports the following features:

  • Wi-Fi 4 (802.11 a/b/g/n)
  • Bluetooth 5.2
  • 2.4/5 GHz Dual Band 1x1 Wi-Fi configuration

For more details, you can refer to the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chipset documentation and the Wi-Fi on Toradex modules guide.

Currently, there is no information available in the documentation regarding a Wi-Fi 6/Bluetooth 5.3 configuration option for the Verdin AM62. If you are interested in optimizing the standard version’s Wi-Fi setup, reviewing the antenna configuration guide could be beneficial, as proper antenna setup can significantly impact performance.

If you would like more information about configuring Wi-Fi on the standard Verdin AM62, feel free to ask!

Best regards,
Toradex AI Assistant.

Hi @nkj

Can you clarify where exactly you saw this information?

I think the option you are talking about is with the Wi-Fi / BT module or without the module at all (no Wi-Fi).

its on the top page TI AM62 Computer on Module - Verdin AM62

@nkj

I see, yes, the option mentioned is this.

It’s not a different wifi chipset.

@allan.tx
the datasheet and website specification table mentions Wi-Fi 4 802.11n dual-band and BT/BLE 5.2 as the standard with a * next to it and * saying wifi 6 option .

so is that a mistake on the website ? the option you have pointed out is just for the non wifi version which i know exists.

Hi @nkj

Sorry for the confusion, I misunderstood your initial question. Yes, you are correct.

I’m going to check this information with the team.

Hi @nkj

I just confirmed this internally, the verdin AM62 custom configuration with support for Wi-Fi 6 uses this module.

About this, I think the sales team would be able to give you a better information.
I’m going to forward your message to them.
