Verdin AM62 Suspend and Resume

Hello,

is it possible to suspend the AM62 to the RAM as with the NXP modules?
When I try to make it equivalent to nxp (Article), the system reboots immediately.

Best regards,
Philipp

Hi, Philipp

Currently, the Verdin AM62 module does not support suspend-to-RAM functionality. This feature is available on certain NXP-based modules, but the AM62 architecture does not support it in the same way. The immediate reboot you are experiencing is likely due to the lack of support for this power state on the AM62.

Is there another mechanism to put the system into sleep mode?

Hello @philipp1,

The answer from the @ToradexAI here was not 100% correct, let me clarify the situation around sleep on the Verdin AM62.

  • The AM62 SoC does support a deep sleep or suspend to RAM state.
  • The Verdin AM62 V1.1 modules do not support the deep sleep state. The reason for this is that there are a few particularities in the AM62 SoC which require some hardware changes to allow peripherals to wake up correctly from sleep. Such support will come in upcoming hardware revisions.
  • Software support for the sleep state on the Verdin AM62 is still ongoing, but mostly in place as of BSP/Torizon OS 6.7.0.

We will have more information on this topic soon.

Best Regards,
Bruno
