Hi all,
I have a number of iMX6DL modules that I use for testing.
Typically after using one I use the recovery mode and reflash it back to factory.
One of the modules I have will no longer enter recovery mode (I use the hardware method)
I have not had problems with the other boards.
When I try to run the imx_usb application it does not see the device:
config file <C:\recovery\\imx_usb.conf>
vid=0x15a2 pid=0x0054 file_name=mx6_usb_rom.conf
-> vid=0x1b67 pid=0x4fff file_name=mx6_usb_sdp_spl.conf
-> vid=0x1b67 pid=0x4000 file_name=mx6_usb_sdp_uboot.conf

no matching USB device found
When I short the pins and power the module on, I have monitored the Device Manager and there are no signs of anything being detected.
I have both Iris and the Evaluation Boards
Any idea if there is anything I can investigate on this or is this module toast?
Many thanks,
James
Hi @jamesgjatkin!
Could you please share the full name (and version) of the Colibri iMX6 module as well as the Carrier Boards versions?
Do you get any messages from the Serial Debug Console from the module during boot? (please disregard the recovery mode process here)
Best regards,
Hi,
The board is Col iMX6DL 512MB, V1.1A, 10659523
I do not appear to be able to see any messages from the serial debug console at all, even when bridging the pins to trigger the recovery mode!
Hi @jamesgjatkin,
Just to be clear, when the module is powered on in recovery mode, it is expected to get no message from the serial debug.
But if you get no message whatsoever from the module’s debug serial, and the module isn’t recoverable it might have been damaged indeed.
Thanks for the information. Please also share the versions of the carrier boards you are using.
If you want, you can trigger the Return Material Authorization (RMA) process. So we can try to investigate how health the module is.
Best regards,
Hi,
To be honest it is just one module so for the moment I will quarantine it.
If I manage to break any more I will see what leads up to the situation and let you know.
Thanks for all the quick responses.
Hi @jamesgjatkin !
Ok!
Let us know if you need further help.
Have a nice day!
Best regards,
