Is it possible to prompt the device to check for an update from the CLI rather than waiting for it to check on a timer?
Also, we have set the rate at which the device checks for an update to once per hour. Is it possible for the OTA system to time-out or will it just wait forever for the device to poll?

At the moment the simplest way to force an immediate poll is to run sudo systemctl restart aktualizr.
I don’t know of any OTA timeouts but I have pinged the developers and will let you know what they say.
