Smart Battery SMBUS on i2c with Colibri iMX8X

We have two I2C devices. One is a smart battery, one is standard speed battery. The smart battery (SMBus specification ) flips periodically between master and slave and the manufacturer (RRC Germany ) thinks this should go on its own bus if possible. I can’t see that the I2C-17 (Standard device, I2C1) on the iMX8X is a unique bus. Am I best putting this SMBUS device on the I2C1, and then make enable I2C0 on pins SODIMM 140=SCL and 142=SDA and use that for the other I2C device?

Suggestions please!

Hi Kevin,
Yes - this is a copy. The message board was acting up a bit yesterday. I put a message on and it disappeared.

So this can be deleted, can you do that or should I do it?

Cheers

Richard

Hi @FatLinux ,

alright then. Thanks for the confirmation.

I’ll close it.
