Serial console is not working with Colibri iMX6DL on Iris carrier board

I’m using the Iris carrier board and Colibri iMX6DualLite module. After the board is powered on, I get garbage data in the minicom console.

Command used to launch the minicom: minicom -D /dev/ttyUSB0 -b 115200

dmesg output when connecting the Serial2USB module:

Hello @murad,

Greetings and Thank you for writing to Toradex Community.

These kinda characters usually suggest that something might be wrong with the connection. There are a couple of things we could try:

  • Firstly, could you connect the module to the monitor and make sure the module is booting, so that we could rule out any booting issues.
  • Could you please kindly re-check your connection with what’s described here:
Unboxing and Setup Cables - Iris Carrier Board
  • Could you also kindly check if the configuration is set for 115200 baud, 8 data bits, no party, 1 stop bit and no handshaking?

Best Regards,
Janani
