Based on Verdin Family specifications HDMI interface is “Reserved”.
This means that some of the SoMs can offer it and some other SoMs can’t.
This is fine.
In any case, as far as I know, the only SoMs that offer it are those with iMX8M-Plus, because this is the only chip that has a native HDMI interface.
For other SoMs, a DSI to HDMI adapter can be mounted on the carrier board.
I suggest Toradex to evaluate the releasing of more SoMs with this kind of interface. I meas, mounting the DSI to HDMI adapter on the SoM itself.
In this way, the HDMI interface of Mallow carrier board can be used with more SoMs.
