Good Afternoon,

The iMX8 SoMs I have ordered where delivered with each individual SoM in it’s own plastic packaging. Does this plastic packaging provide any ESD protection for the SoM while being handled?

Yes, they do offer ESD protection. Our clamshells are made from dissipative materials in accordance with ISO4593, ISO527, and EOS/ESD S 11.11 (in conformity with EIA-541, MIL-B-81705-C; ASTM D-257,CECC 00015/1; IEC 61340-5-1).
