PCIe Verdin AM62

Dear Engineers,
I have question about PCIe on Toradex Verdin AM62. In datasheet I see, that the PCIe is reserved, but in Altium design I see that pinout exist. What it means? It means, that the PCIe is reserved on defined pins positions and it does not supported multiplexing with another functions, but it is available for using, or it means, taht the PCIe have reserved pins positions, but it is disconnected into Verdin AM62 electronic?

Thank you
Best Regard

Hi Ivan,

The PCIe interface on the Verdin AM62 is indeed reserved, which means that the pins are allocated for PCIe functionality in the pinout. However, the term “reserved” in this context typically indicates that the feature is not currently supported in the software or hardware implementation of the module.

In other words, while the pins are designated for PCIe, the actual functionality might not be enabled or available in the current version of the Verdin AM62. This could be due to various reasons such as incomplete software support or hardware design constraints.

To summarize, the PCIe pins are reserved and present in the pinout, but the functionality is not available for use at this time.

Hi, @ivanmahdik !

The answer from Toradex AI is correct.

In addition to this answer, you can see on page 28 of Verdin AM62’s datasheet that the pins of PCIe have an “NC”, which means “not connected”. In other words, the pins are presented, but they don’t have any function.

Best regards.

Hi Lucas,
thank for your confirm of information. I was confused by the “Verdin Carrier Board Design Guide” on page 18, which shows their connections.

Ivan
