Loading an existing image via Easy Installer to my Apalis TK1 module gets a working tegra-ubuntu image that will connect over serial port but no output to a monitor, is that normal, and if so how should one go about obtaining video output?

Did you give our regular L4T resp. JetPack images a try as well?

No, that does not sound familiar but as mentioned above I’m also not clear on what exactly it is you are trying to achieve.
I went back to the Easy Loader and tried the option with “JetPack” in the name - works fine, have a nice Ubuntu screen to look upon.All is now well!
