No screen output

Hello,

I have just purchased a Tegra K1 module with its Apalis Evaluation Board.
I have started following the Getting Started guide, however upon connecting the monitor to the board to download and flash the operating system, I cannot see any output on the screen neither through the DVI nor VGA ports (by switching the X40 and X39 jumpers accordingly).

I tried re-flashing the Todarex Easy Installer, but with no results.
By connecting my laptop through the serial interface, it seems like the Toradex Easy Installer boots correctly, so I have no idea what is going wrong here. Here is my booting system output:

In some rare cases probably dependant on the carrier board, cable and/or screen used we noticed a race condition during display controller initialisation may occur. Could you try executing the following from the serial console once the Toradex Easy Installer is booted (e.g. after you got the / # as you posted above):

/usr/sbin/fbset -fb /dev/fb1 -g 640 480 640 960 16 -t 39721 48 16 33 10 96 2

Alternatively, you may also use VNC via Ethernet connection as outlined here. However, version 1.3 only supports gigabit Ethernet via DHCP so you would e.g. need to use ip addr to display the IP address of your board.

Please note that the Apalis TK1 does not support analogue VGA and will only ever output something on DVI-D.

Please further note that above-mentioned issue has been resolved in the Toradex Easy Installer 1.4 which we just released. However, it may take some time until shipped modules will be pre-programmed with that updated version.

I tried that command but with no results.

Instead I managed to use VNC to install the NVIDIA Linux embedded OS, but I am facing the same problem again: I can access the linux shell through the serial port or SSH through the network, but again nothing appears on the display, not even while the system is booting.

According to dmesg there is a 1920x1080 screen connected. Try using different cable and different screen, run xrandr and see if screen resolution was properly detected.
