link textHello:
Attached is a screenshot of my configuration. Apparently, I do have the Toradex Easy Installer loaded on the board. However, I DO NOT see the GUI on my display monitor to install Torizon, as shown in the ‘Quickstart Guide’. Why is there no GUI display on my monitor? I have it connected via HDMI on X17 of Ixora Carrier Board. I have attached my connections and serial output.link text

Have you installed something on that module before or you have a stock Toradex Easy Installer?
-
Could you try another monitor and another HDMI cable?
-
Could you also save a full boot log from debug UART?

>> This is the first time I powered up. I have not installed anything yet. I just connected the cables, powered up and that is what I am seeing.

OK you have a 2.0beta2 version of Toradax Easy Installer which may have an issue with some iMX8 modules.
Please do next:
-
download latest nightly build here
-
Unzip to USB flash drive or SD card
-
Open image.json file at text editor and change “autoinstall” value from false to true
-
Insert USB flash drive or SD card to Ixora board
-
Boot it.
-
Wait around 5 minutes.
-
Remove USB flash drive or SD card.
-
Reboot
After first boot 2.0b2 Toradex Easy Installer will automatically flash a new Toradex Easy Installer which should work with HDMI monitor.
Ok. I did that. Still no display on my HDMI monitor. I know the HDMI monitor and the HDMI cable works because I have a Raspberry PI with the same HDMI monitor and HDMI cable that works.
I think I installed the nightly build as shown here.
In addition, I have also attached an updated UART log. link text
Please let me if there’s anything wrong from the serial output.
Serial output looks exactly as in my case while I have HDMI output OK. Could you still try another monitor and HDMI cable? I know your monitor works, but some brands may be not compatible
Ok. Thank you for the feedback. I will try with a different monitor.
If all else fails, we might have to ask for a replacement of the board.
Will let you know. Thank you again for your quick responses.
Ok. You are absolutely correct. It does not work on all HDMI monitors but I did find another HDMI monitor in my office that works. Thank you for the feedback. Out of curiosity, why does it not work on all monitors?
This issue is under investigation. Do you mind to share full monitor model number which doesn’t work?
Attached is the part number, model number of the monitor that did not output display.
Btw, that monitor finally works with the Pontainer but NOT the Toradex installer.
Hi @mamor
Thanks for your feedback. I will create internally ticket for this issue.
Best regards,
