Minimum bandwidth for monitoring services

Verdin iMX8M mini DualLite 1GB
Custom Carrier Board
Torizon OS 6.1

We are working with the above mentioned verdin module mounted on a board designed by us, we use containers, one running weston and the other running our own flutter app. For these devices we are using monitoring with torizon cloud licenses. In the tests everything worked fine, however when installing the devices we have problems to establish a remote connection to the shell, we usually get this error:

ssh -p 7963 torizon@ras.torizon.io
Connection closed by 18.196.33.2 port 7963

We are investigating it seems that the problem is the connection speed.
do you have the data of what is the minimum bandwidth needed for the remote shell?

Best regards

I don’t have specific data on the minimum bandwidth required for establishing a remote shell connection using Torizon Cloud. However, remote shell connections typically require a stable internet connection with sufficient bandwidth to handle SSH traffic. If you are experiencing connection issues, it might be helpful to ensure that your network connection is stable and has adequate bandwidth to support SSH sessions. Additionally, checking for any network restrictions or firewalls that might be affecting the connection could be beneficial. If the problem persists, you may want to reach out to Toradex technical support for further assistance.

Hi @rmendez ,

Thanks for the detailed information. How many devices in the field are being affected by this issue?

Is this issue only happening in places with bad connections/bandwidth? Did you face problems only with remote access or also with device monitoring?

I will be checking this internally and returning it ASAP.

Best regards,
Daniel Morais
