After upgrading from BSP v2.8b6 to v3.0b2 my USB wifi dongle with a RTL8188CU isn’t recognize anymore.

This is the printout after plugging the dongle in:

Do I have to enable some specific driver in the kernel?

Hi @Mowlwurf

We removed the backports driver in Bsp 3.0b2 as they are not needed anymore. Unfortunately the RTL8188x needs one of these drivers.

We will look into this issue and try to fix this soon.

Best regards,
Jaski

Are there any news about this?

Best regards

HI @Mowlwurf

Unfortunately no. How many Wifi Dongles with the Realtek chip have you in use?

Best regards,
Jaski

At the moment we have two RTL8192-dongles with the Colibri Eval Board in use. Two more are ready in the drawer.

Can you recommand a wifi chip which works for BSP 2.8 and 3.0?

Hi @Mowlwurf

One of our customer is using this. Maybe you try this.

For the feature, we will test some Intel/Braodcom chip based USB or PciE cards and update our list of tested wifi Dongles.

Best regards,
Jaski
