Kernel version range in recipe files

Hello community,

maybe this is a beginners question but maybe it helps someone starting here:
I have build an image from source and try to understand the naming convention for the recipies files of the kernel.

in the morty branch (2.2) there is a file “linux-toradex_4.1-2.0.x.bb” responsible for eg. 4.1.1, 4.2.12 etc.

in the the rocko branch (2.4) there is a file “linux-toradex_4.9-1.0.x.bb” responsible for eg. 4.1.1, 4.2.12 and 4.9.18

Is there any reason the range specification of the rocko branch is in descending order?

Thanks

I believe you misunderstood something. Those recipes are specific to the Linux kernel versions 4.1 resp. 4.9 only. The -2.0.x resp. -1.0.x parts stand for the Freescale/NXP BSP version and are directly taken from linux-fslc.
