I’ am using
Carry Board: Verdin Development Board
SoM: Verdin iMX8MP
I am using TorizonCore Builder to customize Torizon OS, then using the offline installation (usb device) to install the customized Torizon OS on the SoM.
I have enabled the auto accept licence, auto install, auto reboot.
I would like to install the Torizon OS without the need to enter to the recovery mode.

Hi Ahmed49,
Yes, it is possible to install Torizon OS without entering recovery mode, especially if you have already enabled auto accept license, auto install, and auto reboot. Here are the steps you can follow to achieve this:
Prepare the USB Device:
Use the TorizonCore Builder tool to create your customized Torizon OS image.
Copy the customized image to a USB device.
Configure the SoM for Auto-Installation:
Ensure that the Toradex Easy Installer is configured to automatically start and install the image from the USB device. This can be done by setting the appropriate configuration files on the USB device.
Boot the SoM:
Insert the USB device into the Verdin Development Board.
Power on the SoM. The Toradex Easy Installer should detect the USB device and start the installation process automatically based on the configurations you have set (auto accept license, auto install, auto reboot).
Monitor the Installation:
The SoM should automatically install the customized Torizon OS and reboot without requiring manual intervention.
By following these steps, you should be able to install Torizon OS on your Verdin iMX8MP without needing to enter recovery mode.
If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, please refer to the Torizon documentation or reach out to Toradex support.

I’m going to assume you’re talking about our Toradex Easy Installer tool correct? The only supported mechanism to load Toradex Easy Installer is by first putting the device into recovery mode. There is an unsupported method for loading Toradex Easy Installer via USB/SD card: Loading Toradex Easy Installer | Toradex Developer Center
However, when we say it’s “unsupported” we truly mean this. This means this method may or may not work, and if it does currently work there is no guarantee from us that it will continue to work in the future.
Otherwise, using recovery mode is required if using the officially supported method.
In addition to @jeremias.tx’s answer, I would say that the closest experience to a ““reflash”” without the need for a recovery mode (no need to physically touch the module/carrierboard) would be by using Torizon Cloud to update your module via Over-The-Air (OTA) update.
