How to open .dts files

Dear Developer,

I am using the guide at the following internet address:

Clone Toradex Device Tree and Overlays Repository

I am using Apalis imx8 with Apalis Evaluation Board.

I ran the following command:
$ torizoncore-builder dt checkout

Now I have the device tree files and the overlays files.
How do I open these files to be able to edit them if necessary?

These are plain text files, and they can be opened/edited using any text editor of your choice.
