Hi everyone,
I am interested in install Debian Jessie in the Apalis T30. I don’t use any X dependent application so I don’t care about these drivers but I would like to have the Debian stability in my embedded system. I have read some posts were the people apparently installed Debian 8 in their Apalis but I don’t find a prepared image (or instructions to prepare it) anywhere. How can I do it?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Jose
Hi Jose
While we do not really support installing anything other than our Angstrom/OpenEmbedded/Yocto based BSP one can certainly replace the contents of the rootfs folder in our BSP package with the likes of Debian Jessie for ARM and flash that onto our modules. An article on our developer website talking about doing a similar thing with NVIDIA’s L4T based on Ubuntu ARM can be found here. Alternatively especially if you do not have any need for hardware accelerated graphics/multimedia one may also run it together with a mainline Linux kernel e.g. outlined here.
Cheers
