Hello!

The ‘meta-toradex-econ’ GitHub repository indeed contains patches and meta-layers intended to support e-con Systems cameras, such as the AR0521, on Toradex hardware. However, the compatibility of these patches with the latest kernel branch ‘toradex_6.6-2.0.x-imx’ isn’t explicitly documented.

To determine if these patches can be used with the ‘toradex_6.6-2.0.x-imx’ kernel branch, you can follow these steps:

  1. Review Repository Documentation: Check the documentation and commit history in the ‘meta-toradex-econ’ repository for any notes or updates regarding compatibility with the ‘toradex_6.6-2.0.x-imx’ branch.

  2. Test the Patches: If the documentation does not provide a definitive answer, consider testing the patches with the ‘toradex_6.6-2.0.x-imx’ branch. This involves applying the patches to your build environment and verifying if the camera operates as expected.

  3. Examine Release Notes: Look at the release notes for the ‘toradex_6.6-2.0.x-imx’ branch to identify any changes that might impact camera support or patch compatibility.

By following these steps, you can better assess whether the patches from ‘meta-toradex-econ’ will work with your desired kernel branch.

from where I will get the defconfig file for latest BSP

Hello @artirajput ,

Currently, there are no plans to support the e-con AR0521 camera on BSP 7 and higher.
For testing purposes, we recommend using the CSI Camera OV5640, which counts with mainline support and makes testing much easier for developers.

Best Regards,

Marcio
