Device busID changes between Tezi5.7 and Tezi6.8

Hi,

I have an application container (with .netcore 3.1 framework) built to work with Tezi5.7 os, but recently I am trying to upgrade to with the Tezi6.8 os. I noticed that between this two torizon-os version, the device bus ID seems to change:
Tezi 5.7:

Tezi 6.8:

Are there any release notes I can referred to for these device bus ID changes between Tezi5 and Tezi6?
Due to the updating of device tree, is there any technical guideline available for embeded developer to upgrade from Tezi5 to Tezi6?

Thanks for your help!

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out with your question. When upgrading from TorizonCore 5.7 to 6.8, changes in device bus IDs can indeed occur due to updates in the device tree or kernel configurations. These changes are typically documented in the release notes for each version.

To understand the specific changes between TorizonCore 5.7 and 6.8, reviewing the release notes for both versions would be beneficial. These notes usually include details about updates that might affect hardware interfaces, such as device bus IDs.

For the upgrade process, it’s important to follow a proper sequence to ensure compatibility:

  1. Update to the latest TorizonCore 5.x version, at least 5.7.2, to ensure compatibility with the bootloader update.
  2. Perform a bootloader upgrade to ensure all components are aligned.
  3. Proceed with the OS update to TorizonCore 6.8, either by building a custom image or using a standard image.

This sequence helps ensure that all components function correctly after the upgrade.

I hope this information assists you in your transition to TorizonCore 6.8.

Hi @cifengfang

First point, the “Tezi” is the Easy Installer tool, it’s only used to install the OS.
I think you mean the Torizon OS 5.7 and Torizon OS 6.8.

You can check the release notes here.

Hi Cifeng,
