Compiling applications that use FCGI

Apologies, if my question is basic - I am a little new to this.
We have an application that is running on Linux BSP Release 2.5.
We are now upgrading to BSP 2.8.
Most of the update has gone well. Except that we cannot compile one program that uses fcgi. When compiled, it reports cannot find file fcgiapp.h:

cethernet.c:26:10: fatal error: fcgiapp.h: No such file or directory
|  #include <fcgiapp.h>

Compilation was fine with 2.5.
fcgi is included in the IMAGE_INSTALL_append in the local.conf file.

If anyone can provide any guidance, it would be most appreciated.

Did you create the corresponding SDK too? If yes, have you checked if fcgiapp.h is present in the SDK folders?

Could you share your local.conf?

The fcgi package is included in the local.conf file, see below. If I search for the fcgiapp.h file, it is located in:

Thanks for the local.conf file. Which commands did you use to launch the compilation of the image and SDK?
You should look for the file in SDK folder after you deployed it using the shell script.

I used the following command to compile:
MACHINE=colibri-vf bitbake console-tdx-image

I could find no other copy of the fcgiapp.h file in the /opt/TORADEX_COLIBRI_VF_V2.8 folder, except in:
/opt/TORADEX_COLIBRI_VF_V2.8/build/tmp-glibc/sysroots-components/armv7at2hf-neon/fcgi/usr/include

I assume that the error snippet is output from during a bitbake run. Correct?

I assume that the recipe which is responsible for the output does not DEPEND on fcgi. With the implementation of a recipe specific sysroot the development headers and friends will then not be available to the compiler resulting in the error. Thus add ‘fcgi’ to the DEPENDS variable of the recipe which creates the error.
