Apalis T30 system hang problem

Hello,
I have a problem with an Apalis T30 and ixora carrier board.
The system as worked (and work if I reinstall) with the angstrom version 2.6.

I have tried to instal the 2.8b6 legacy image, and I have a stange behaviour.
Pratically, with a fresh installation (without any other thing installed) the board boot correcly and all seems to be ok. After some amount of uptime (generally 3-4 hours) the system hang, without an apparently reason.

I have connected the debug over serial port, but there are no message about a problem, simply it freeze and become unresponsive. The only thing for to “revive” the system is an hard reset.

I don’t understand because with Angstrom 2.6 image all is ok (I use this in many embedded systems, powered up for days, without problem).

Someone have the same problem? Any suggestions?

Thank you.

If going back and forth between BSP versions did you make sure to reset resp. U-Boot environment?

env default -a
saveenv
reset

Please also make sure to post full serial console boot logs as textual files for us to analyze should you continue to have any issue.

Hello,
Thank you. Yes, I has already reset the uboot enviroment with this commands.

This is the boot log:

Hm, that does not look too good. Let me find out what exactly that all means…

Looks like we were getting this on a full validation & verification run in March as well without experiencing any kind of system hang issues even doing stress testing.

Do you just have one single module where you experience this? If so I recommend doing an RMA so we can investigate it further on our side. OK?

Ok.I will try today with another module that I have in my company, and I will inform you about any news. Thanks.

You are very welcome.

Hello,
I have made some test.s Seems that the hang problem is caused by one defective APALIST30 module.
I have tried the same image on another module, with the same Ixora carrier board, and the system never hang.

I think that the best thing is to request an RMA for this, right?

Thanks.

Yes, please. And thanks for letting us know.
