Apalis iMX8 blank screen/No Kernel boot after Torizon Install

I just picked up an Apalis iMX8 Quad ax and Ixora Carrier board. I have plugged it into a HDMI desktop monitor ad booted it into the Toradex Easy Installer. I selected the Torizon Image with evaluation containers. The system finished the process, and I clicked “Power Off”. Upon powering the system up, there is no HDMI signal, and its not pingable on the network. Both red and green colors on LED4 and LED5 stay on… which I thought one of the colors turned off during the Easy Loader… I don’t know what the colors represent yet, so that might be nothing important.

I plugged in the serial console, and I see Uboot Messages, but no kernel boot messages, and no errors.

Any tips would be appreciated. I don’t recall the version number of Torizon it said it would load, but I thought the date stamp was something recent.

Which version of Torizon did you install exactly?

I don’t know what the colours represent yet, so that might be nothing important.

The colours of the LEDs are described in the Datasheet of Ixora. As you said it is not that important.

I plugged in the serial console, and I see Uboot Messages, but no kernel boot messages, and no errors.

Usually it takes some minutes till Torizon is booted. Please have patience.

How long should I wait? After 10 minutes after boot, I don’t get any Kernel boot messages from the serial connection. It just stops at “Starting kernel …”. I’m not sure the version that was loaded from the Toradex Easy Loader.

I guess I will try running the Easy Loader from recovery mode again? And I’ll keep track to see what version number it loads, and the results.

I have rerun Easy Installer from recovery mode, and loaded Torizon again. It now boots, and seems to be working. Strange that it didn’t work. I wish I knew which software versions I loaded the first time. Sorry I don’t have more data.
