Apalis iMX6Q 1GB module and Torizon 5.7.2 compatibility

Hello.
I have a question. We bought Apalis iMX6Q 1GB V1.1A modules last time. Previously, we used the torizon 5.7.2 version on the V1.1D module and it worked well. Now when I try to install this torizon version to the new V1.1A module with Easy Installer, it says that the image not compatible with this module. What is the difference between the V1.1D and the new V1.1A version? Maybe I should upgrade to a newer Torizon version?
Thank you for your help.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out with your question. The compatibility issue you’re experiencing with installing Torizon 5.7.2 on the Apalis iMX6Q 1GB V1.1A module may indeed be due to differences between the V1.1A and V1.1D versions. These differences can sometimes affect software compatibility.

Here are a few steps you can take to address this:

  1. Review Compatibility Documentation: Check any release notes or compatibility documents from Toradex for Torizon 5.7.2. These resources might provide insights into specific hardware requirements or known issues with certain module versions.

  2. Consider Upgrading Torizon: If Torizon 5.7.2 is not compatible with the V1.1A module, upgrading to a newer version of Torizon could be beneficial. Newer versions often support a wider range of hardware and include bug fixes that might resolve your issue.

  3. Update the Installation Tool: Ensure you are using the latest version of the Toradex Easy Installer, as updates to this tool can enhance compatibility with various hardware versions.

By following these steps, you should be able to determine the best approach to achieve compatibility with your Apalis iMX6Q 1GB V1.1A module. If the issue persists, testing with a newer Torizon release might help.

Hi @vigh.balazs

You can check the hardware product page to learn about changes between hardware versions.

This is the previous and currently modules, correct?
Apalis iMX6Q 1GB WinCE V1.1D (00271103) → Apalis iMX6Q 1GB V1.1A (00831100)

There is actually no incompatibility between PID4 0027 and PID4 0083. However, they have a different product number because the new modules don’t include the WinCE license.

You can check the product change page here.

Hi Allan

Thank you for your answer. Adding the new PID number to the image.json and wrapup.sh solved the problem.
