This question is similar to CPU Frequency at Uboot - Toradex Community . My colleague mentioned that the iMX6 would run at half the max clock frequency during uboot and then back to full clock frequency when the kernel takes over. Is that true? If so can I set something/change some code in uboot to make the cpu runs at full clock frequency?
For the Commercial Temperature variants of our modules this is true, for the IT variant it is not.
The CPU frequency out of the bootrom on i.MX6D/Q is 792 MHz independent of the speed grade. The Commercial Temperature variants are rated up to 1GHz.
U-Boot does currently not have any code to change the CPU clock and voltage, we have no plans to do implement such a feature. So no, you cannot change this.
