Add animated (.gif) splash screen for IMX7

Hi ,

I want to add animated gif image at boot (splash screen video ), it’s possible? i did some research , i found only tutorial for image splash screen.

For Plymouth I found the following: Plymouth-Animated-Boot-Screen-Creator

I haven’t tried it myself yet but it’s on my to-do list.

We actually use Plymouth to display the splash screen on TorizonCore. We have an article outlining the procedure to load a custom splash screen, but this only supports png images.

If you’re using our Yocto Project Reference Images, these use the splash screen feature of the Linux kernel, which only support still images. You can read more about this here.
