I have a problem with toradex USB adapter on IMX6ULL image.
I inserted the USB wifi adapter but when I don’t find the Wifi port when
I do connmann-properties.
I tried to do the command lsusb and the USB wifi adapter exists on the device lists:
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 1c4f:0034 SiGma Micro
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 04d9:a088 Holtek Semiconductor, Inc.
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0bda:8179 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8188EUS 802.11n Wireless Network Adapter
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 058f:6254 Alcor Micro Corp. USB Hub
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
What do I do to use it?
An existing Linux driver for this adapter has some issues so we neither recommend to use this adapter with Linux nor support it.
A while ago we’ve tested a SparkLAN WUBR-508N 802.11abgn USB Adaptor with 2.8BSP. We have not tested it with BSP V3 and beyond, so we cannot guarantee that it will work out of the box.
We have a Colibri iMX6Ull module with WiFI/BT module onboard.
Yes, my wifi adapter is that.
Is It possibile to use on imx6ull Linux.
is there any wifi adapter compatible with imx6ull?
thank you for reply.
Could you suggest me any other wifi adapter
for toradex embedded linux?
Dear alex, i have same issue, i need to use an USB WiFi dongle with IMX6ULL.
Unfortunately i cannot use MX6Ull module with WiFI/BT module onboard because WiFi is an option.
Please can you suggest me some USB dongle that can work with linux?
If not, at least a chipset that should work.
Is the Realtek RTL8188CUS/RTL8188EUS chipset supported into IMX6ULL linux image?
Please check the modules presented at Working with external 3rd Party Wi-Fi Modules.
