USB 3.0 on Torizon

I’m trying to use one of Allied Vision’s Camera (Alvium) on Torizon. The camera’s interface is USB3. It has 5MP and no compression, which translates to a high throughput on the USB, making USB3 necessary. I’ve been having some trouble getting the images from the camera and, while investigating, I came across the following return from lsusb:

apalis-imx6-10562491:/$ lsusb
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0424:2514 Standard Microsystems Corp. USB 2.0 Hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

Note that there are only 2.0 hubs, for some reason, even though USB3 is available on Ixora. Would you think it is possible Torizon doesn’t yet support USB3?

Thanks & Regards!

Hi @lucashehl!

Even though the Ixora features USB 3.0 compatible ports, the Apalis iMX6 doesn’t offer USB 3.0 peripherals, so all ports will be USB 2.0.

Only modules such as the Apalis TK1 and the Apalis iMX8 have USB 3.0 interfaces.

Enormous facepalm from my side.
Thanks a lot for the information, that just flew over my head on the datasheet.

Thanks again and regards,

You are welcome.

Best regards,
