Sound issue with Apalis IMX8QM

Hi support team,

I’m trying to bring up the audio on Apalis IMX8QM and I didn’t find a pin mapping of SGTL5000 codec from SoM. I checked the datasheet as well as schematic, but it didn’t find proper details that which pin I have to connect to our custom design board.

Could you please provide more details on this.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out with your question about the Apalis iMX8QM and the SGTL5000 codec. I understand you’re looking for specific pin mapping details to integrate audio functionality into your custom design board.

While the Apalis iMX8QM module’s documentation may not explicitly list the pin mappings for the SGTL5000 codec, you can often find useful information by examining the software configuration files used in the Linux kernel for audio support. These files can sometimes provide insights into how the codec is interfaced with the module.

Additionally, reviewing the device tree files used in the Torizon or other Linux distributions on the Apalis iMX8QM might reveal how the audio subsystem is configured, including any relevant pin assignments. The device tree is a critical component in defining hardware configurations and can be a valuable resource in understanding the integration of peripherals like the SGTL5000.

I hope this helps you in your efforts to integrate the audio codec with your custom board. If you have further questions about software configuration, feel free to ask.
