We have completed evaluation of using QNX 8.0 on Verdin iMX8MP SoM + Dahlia development board. A BSP specifically for the Dahlia board is available from QNX. The next step would be to evaluate QNX 8.0 on Verdin iMX8MP SoM + the Mallow development board. However, we see there is no BSP available from QNX for Mallow.
Would the QNX 8.0 BSP for Dahlia be compatible for the Mallow carrier board? If not, is there a QNX 8.0 BSP offered by Toradex for the Mallow carrier board?

Hello and thank you for your question.
Currently, the only officially documented QNX BSP for the Verdin iMX8M Plus is version 7.1, released directly by QNX and validated specifically for the Dahlia Carrier Board. There is no documentation or confirmation available regarding the compatibility of this BSP (whether for QNX 7.1 or 8.0) with the Mallow Carrier Board(1).
Additionally, there is no mention in the available resources of Toradex providing a dedicated QNX BSP for the Mallow carrier board. Compatibility between carrier boards can sometimes be achieved if their interfaces and hardware configurations are similar, but this is not guaranteed and may require additional adaptation work.
For reference, further QNX information and options for professional support can be found here:
If you need guidance on evaluating software or verifying hardware configuration compatibility, let me know how you would like to proceed.

Hi Madhav,
I think we are having another channel on this very topic with Ling.
We are exploring internally but the short answer is no the QNX OS was done with the Dahlia in mind and not the Mallow. I think this is something you would have to communicate with QNX on. I would suspect form a technical poitn of view that it shouldn’t be too much effort on their side but maybe that is something you would have to convince them on.
best regards,
