Module OFF State

Hello there,

While designing our custom carrier board something that has come to our attention is a module’s power off state. This state is eventually entered after issuing a “shutdown” command. The only way out of the “Module OFF” state is either by a power cycle or by using the PWR_BTN_MICO# signal.

Our final product will run unattended in the field and we are now concerned about the module going into a power off state for whatever reason.

We will be using Torizon OS. From a software standpoint: is this concern justified?

Thanks in advance,

Hello @p.stucki.dp,

Yes, this is true, and for nonhuman accessible devices, you have to add an external watchdog that cycles the power in that case. We are preparing an article for that use case.
