FRAMOS FSM:GO Camera support for IMX95?

Hi there, I am setting up the IMX95 Verdin Mallow system now for evaluation. I would love to test this out with the FRAMOS FSM:GO camera range. I see these cameras already support the IMX8M Verdin Mallow system. Is there any plan at Toradex to develop support for these cameras on the IMX95 SoC too?

  • 0064 - Verdin iMX8M Plus Quad 2GB WB IT

Available Camera Models

The FSM:GO family includes (1):

  • FSM:GO IMX662 (2MP/2K optical sensor module)
  • FSM:GO IMX676 (12MP/1:1 format optical sensor module)
  • FSM:GO IMX678 (8MP/4K optical sensor module)

Verdin iMX95 Support

Based on the available documentation, there is no current official support mentioned for FRAMOS FSM:GO cameras on the Verdin iMX95 platform (4). The Verdin iMX95 is a newer module based on the NXP iMX95 SoC (4), and the camera integration documentation specifically lists only the Verdin iMX8M Plus variants as compatible (1).

Software Requirements

For supported platforms, camera integration requires adding a Yocto Project layer to images built on top of the Toradex Linux BSP, with BSP versions 7.0.0 and 7.1.0 supporting this layer (1). Torizon OS 7 supports these cameras starting from version 7.0.0 (1).

Although I can’t provide an estimated timeline, this is currently under development.

Unfortunately, we do not currently have off-the-shelf support for FRAMOS cameras on the i.MX95 SoC.

Actually, I recently contacted FRAMOS one week ago. What they told me was (paraphrased): “We are not currently developing FSM:GO support for the IMX95. You will need to contact Toradex for information.”

My business is very interested in testing this camera setup as an early adopter. If it goes well, we will integrate the FSM:GO camera and the IMX95 compute module in our products.

Can we discuss further about your progress on developing FSM:GO camera support for the IMX95? Specifically we are interested in the IMX678 camera. If this discussion needs to happen over email, happy to do that as well.
