Flashing the yocto build images into toradex apalis imx6

Hello Experts,

Recently I built the yocto images for apalis imx6 board by referring the below link.

http://developer.toradex.com/knowledge-base/board-support-package/openembedded-(core)

repo init -u Index of /toradex-bsp-platform.git -b LinuxImageV2.7
repo sync

And got the following images generated but I want to know which binaries are required to flash my binaries into apalis imx6 board.

Apalis-iMX6_LXDE-Image_2.7b3-20170713.tar
Apalis-iMX6_LXDE-Image_2.7b3-20170713.tar.bz2

BTW, I have referred the following link and didn’t help because this commands are expecting different binary names which I didn’t get it from yocto build.

http://developer.toradex.com/knowledge-base/flashing-linux-on-imx6-modules

I don’t have the below files which seems needed for updating binaries from SD.

flash_blk.img
mbr.bin
boot.vfat
root.ext3-100 TO root.ext3-107

Here is the files I have from pre-built images and how can I generate the below files from yocto build ??

Thanks for your help.

That depends whether or not you wish to use the legacy update method or the new Toradex Easy Installer:

http://developer.toradex.com/software/toradex-easy-installer

  1. Apalis-iMX6_LXDE-Image_2.7b3-20170713.tar

That one is for the Toradex Easy Installer

  1. Apalis-iMX6_LXDE-Image_2.7b3-20170713.tar.bz2

And number 2 is the legacy one containing an update.sh shell script which can generate all the specific files you are looking for.

Somehow i only get the .tar archive not the tar.bz2 one, do you know what could be the problem?

No.

As you’re question is not really a follow up to the original post, please ask a new question and give some more detail of what you did with what version of things, adding relevant console output and the likes.
