Does Colibri dual-core iMX6 has different OS image than single core iMX6

Hi,

Does Colibri dual-core iMX6 has different OS image than single-core iMX6. I am using WEC2013.

If different, where can I get the image for dual-core iMX6.

And, if not, how does the OS know if it is a multicore processor or not?

Thanks,
Arif

They use the same image.
There are some standard ARM co-processor calls to detect the number of cores and cache size and i.MX6 specific registers to get the processor version, so the BSP can manage to do this at runtime.
If you notice in the serial output you can see if SMP is enabled or not.
You can also disable multi-core and l2 cache (for debugging purposes) using the “pex” config block parameter from the bootloader console.
