Colibri iMX7D Hot Swapping

Greetings,
My question is…

We are designing a Colibri iMX7D SODIMM based development (AKA carrier) board for a new offering. The Colibri was working fine…

…then, one of our sparkies hot-swapped a known good Colibri iMX7D into our SODIMM based development board and it would no longer boot. The Colibri worked also in a Colibri Evaluation Carrier Board. We then plugged it into the Colibri Evaluation Carrier Board and now it no longer works either. I have searched online (multiple sources) for clues.

Are the Colibri iMX7D SoMs hot-swapable?

Steve

Hi Steve,

Please note that Toradex computer module are not design for hot-swaping.
You can try recovering the module and re-flashing the operating system.
Please refer to the Colibri iMX7 datasheet: section 7, Recovery mode for more details.

You can download the latest WinCE image from the link below:

In-case you are using Linux, please refer to the following article for flashing procedure:

Let us know, if you have any query.

Thank you very much Satyan Raj.
