Best Yocto layer for colibri board

Hi community, looking on the openembedded layers site ( I saw that there are two different definition for the colibri-imx6 machine, one in the meta-fsl-arm-extra layer and another in the meta-toradex-nxp layer. My question is: why there are two definition of the same machines?

It’s really just the regular mainline/upstream vs. downstream you are seeing. In our official BSPs our layers of course take precedence but otherwise you may also build the community stuff which may limp behind.

BTW: meta-fsl-arm-extra is actually deprecated and got replaced by meta-freescale-3rdparty which looks like not yet being published to the layers index.
