Apalis iMX6 1920x720 Screen Resolution Problem

We have a 1920x720 resolution of CD-Tech screen.I am connected with HDMI.We are running our qt application on apalis imx6.The device detects 1024x768 screen resolution. But the resolution of my screen is 1920x720.
How should I make a configuration to get a 1920x720 screen resolution?

Kernel version 2016.11-2.7

What exact kernel version are you using.
What from the page you reference do you exactly implement?

If I’m to guess the screen is connected over HDMI then what edid does it announce?

Does changing the kernel cmdline in U-Boot help?
e.g. changing vidargs as follows:

Apalis iMX6 # setenv vidargs video=mxcfb0:dev=hdmi,1920x720M@60,if=RGB24 video=mxcfb1:off video=mxcfb2:off video=mxcfb3:off fbmem=32M
Apalis iMX6 # saveenv

If not what is the output of the following in Linux

uname -r
cat /proc/cmdline
dmesg | grep fb
xrandr
